The Evil in Us Trailer Revels in Drugs and Cannibalism

The Evil in Us: Yet another cabin in the woods horror movie coming to DVD and digital this summer

Same film, different day. Stop us if you’ve heard this one: gaggle of pretty young people drive to isolated cabin in the woods to party, drink, do drugs and screw and suddenly some sort of evil is unleashed that makes them turn feral and turn on each other. Seriously. Enough. What hath Sam Raimi wrought? It’s the same formula spewed forth endlessly since his landmark shocker Evil Dead and it’s been seriously “Bro-ized” since Eli Roth rothed it over with his Cabin Fever and it just. Never. Stops.

Now that I’ve got that bit of bile out of the way, maybe you’re still interested in writer/director Jason William Lee’s The Evil in Us, coming to DVD exclusively at Walmart (where it will end up in the dump bin of life) on July 4th and then be widely available on DVD, VOD and digital platforms on August 29th. The film stars Ian Collins, Kylee Bush, Debs Howard and John Gillich in a tired tale of young folks taking tainted drugs and turning into sort-of zombies or at least cannibal mutants or drug demons or…

Here’s the official The Evil in Us synopsis: Six school friends meet up for a fourth of July celebration on a remote island off the Washington coast for a weekend of fun and partying. But the good times quickly turn into a nightmare when they unknowingly take a new bio-active drug containing a virus that causes fits of psychotic rage. Only one girl, Brie, doesn’t take the drug and she alone must fight to stay alive as her friends slowly turn into bloodthirsty cannibals. Trapped on the island, Brie must endure the unimaginable and fight for her life.

Yeah, you’ve seen this before dozens of times, but distributor RLJ Entertainment is banking on the possibility that you might want to see it once more. Have a look at the trailer below and see if The Evil in Us floats your boat…
