Death Wish, The Mountain Between Us and More Get Release Changes, Dates

Death Wish, The Mountain Between Us and other films are getting release dates and changes

There has been some shifting around of movie release dates and some new ones added today. The remake of Death Wish, from director Eli Roth and starring Bruce Willis, Vincent D’Onofrio, Kimberly Elise, Mike Epps, and Elisabeth Shue, is set to open on November 22, 2017 from Annapurna Pictures, according to Variety. Charles Bronson starred in the original 1974 Death Wish film (in turn based on a 1972 Brian Garfield novel) as Paul Kersey (Paul Benjamin in the novel), a New York man who turns vigilante following the murder of his wife. The original Death Wish received four sequels (all of which starred Bronson) over the course of the next two decades.

Annapurna has also set a date for Professor Marston & The Wonder Women, starring Luke Evans, Bella Heathcote and Rebecca Hall. The film will hit theaters on October 27, 2017. In a superhero origin tale unlike any other, this is the true story of 1940s Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston, the inventor of the lie detector and creator of the iconic Wonder Woman, who defends his feminist superhero against charges of ‘sexual perversity’ while at the same time maintaining a secret that could have destroyed him. Unknown to others, Marston’s inspiration for Wonder Woman was his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne, two empowered women in the field of psychology who defied convention, building a secret life together with Marston that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises.

There has been a date swap for two upcoming films from Fox Searchlight Pictures. Goodbye Christopher Robin, the upcoming biopic of Winnie the Pooh creator A. A. Milne, is moving from November 10 to October 13 this year. The film stars Domhnall Gleeson as Milne and Margot Robbie as the author’s wife, Daphne. They’ve also set Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, starring Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Abbie Cornish, Lucas Hedges, Željko Ivanek, Caleb Landry Jones, Clarke Peters, Samantha Weaving, John Hawkes and Peter Dinklage. The film has moved from October 13 to November 10.

In addition, 20th Century Fox‘s survival drama/romance The Mountain Between Us, an adaptation of Charles Martin’s 2010 novel starring Idris Elba and Kate Winslet, has moved from October 20 to October 6.

As we reported yesterday, Weinstein Co. and Dimension Films are moving Blumhouse‘s Amityville: The Awakening yet again, with no new release date announced.
