“Rescue Me” co-creator Peter Tolan has revealed to the “Matthew Aaron Show” (via JoBlo) that he has turned in a new draft of the Baywatch script to Paramount Pictures. His version, however, has nothing to do with the show.
“It’s not based on the show in any way, though there are a couple of winks at the show,” he said. “I don’t know anything about the show. I didn’t watch it in preparation for writing this.”
He added that there are roles written in for David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, but that they would not play the characters they did in the series.
The show ran from 1989 to 1999 (and 1999 to 2001 as “Baywatch Hawaii”).
