Keaton and Monaghan Check Into Penthouse North

Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan are set to team for a thriller called Penthouse North, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Joseph Ruben is attached to direct with a script from David Loughery.

Monaghan will play a photojournalist who, following a tragedy, retreats from the world, refusing to leave her New York Penthouse. Keaton then appears as a sadistic criminal who breaks into the apartment, determined to find hidden riches.

Ruben is known for thrillers like Sleeping with the Enemy and The Good Son. Most recently, he directed 2004’s The Forgotten with Julianne Moore in the lead. Loughery previously teamed with Ruben for 1995’s Money Train and recently scripted Obsessed. His next screenplay, Nurse 3D is being directed by Doug Aarniokoski and will see release sometime in 2012.

Monaghan starred in this year’s Source Code and will soon appear in Machine Gun Preacher. Keaton appeared last year in The Other Guys and voiced Ken in Toy Story 3, reprising the role for a recent short film that was shown before Cars 2.
