The Expendables 2 production is in talks with a Chinese distributor to come on board as a producer, which would lead to scenes being shot in China as long as a local actor is cast, reports Variety.
Donnie Yen has been offered a role in the sequel if the deal goes through, which would make it easier for the film to be released in China.
The trade adds that the first day of filming for The Expendables 2 is September 19 at Nu Boyana Studios in Bulgaria.
Simon West will direct and Sylvester Stallone is starring in the movie, scheduled for a release on August 17, 2012. Other cast members have not yet been confirmed.
Made for $80 million, the first film earned $274.5 million at the worldwide box office.
