Alexander Skarsgard Looks to The East

Alexander Skarsgard appears likely to join the cast of The East, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. He would appear opposite Brit Marling, who co-wrote the project alongside Zat Batmanglij, who will also direct.

The film is said is to focus on a group of eco terrorists led by Skarsgard’s character. Marling would play a law enforcement agent who goes undercover to infiltrate the group.

Skarsgard is best known for his role as Eric on HBO’s “True Blood.” He’ll soon appear on the big screen as well in Straw Dogs, Melancholia and next summer’s Battleship.

Marling, meanwhile, is now in theaters in the just-released Another Earth and will soon headline Sound of My Voice, both of which she also co-wrote and the latter of which is directed by Batmanglij. She’s also slated to appear in Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep.
