Brian De Palma Takes The Key Man

Brian De Palma has signed on to direct the thriller The Key Man, Deadline reports.

Set up through QED International and Safehouse Pictures, the film arrives from screenwriter Joby Harold, best known as the writer/director of 2007’s crime thriller Awake. The plot is said to revolve around a single father who becomes the target of government agents seeking information hidden on his person.

Described as a throwback to paranoia-fueled thrillers of the past, De Palma will likely tread some familiar genre territory.

De Palma’s output has been relatively quiet as of late. His last film, Redacted was released in 2007, making this the longest he’s ever gone between projects.

Shooting on The Key Man is expected to begin later this year.
