Agent Coulson Stars in Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant

Marvel Studios has just debuted a clip from their upcoming short film, “Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant,” which will be featured on the home video release of Thor.

Designed to bridge the gap between Iron Man 2 and Robert Downey Jr.’s scene in The Incredible Hulk, “The Consultant” features Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson. He’s also set to appear in another “Marvel One-Shot” short, entitled “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer,” which takes place between Iron Man 2 and Thor. The specific release for that short has not yet been announced.

“They were directed by the great Leythum,” says co-producer Brad Winderbaum, “whose initial pitch was very inspiring and immediately made us confident in his vision… We were also fortunate to have the films scored by the world renowned DJ Paul Oakenfold. And both shorts were written by the awesome Eric Pearson, who did a great job capturing the wit and humor we enjoy from Coulson in the features.”

“I was in the process of getting myself in fighting shape for ‘The Avengers,'” adds Gregg, “so to find Agent Coulson in a situation where he might be involved in close quarters combat was exciting to me. [Coulson finds himself in a situation] where there is an imminent threat and no super heroes around… In one of them there’s a daily crisis [in which] a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent deals with the World Security Council and one of our super heroes. To explore some of that stuff that connects the various movies I found very exciting as a fanboy at heart.”

Thor arrives on DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray September 13th. Check out a clip from “The Consultant” in the player below.
