Warner Bros. Plans The Future of Us

Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to the upcoming sci-fi novel The Future of Us, Deadline reports.

Set for release in November, the young adult novel is written by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler and features a young girl who, after logging on to a dial-up internet connection, winds up getting to see her Facebook profile from the year 2011. Whenever she and her best friend try to change something about their future, the Facebook profile is then updated in kind.

Mackler is the author of the novels “Tangled”, “Guyaholic” and “The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Thing”, among others. Asher, meanwhile, is the author of 13 Reasons Why, set for development at Universal Pictures with Selena Gomez attached to play the lead.
