First Look at Firth and Diaz in Gambit

ComingSoon.net has been provided with the very first picture of Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz in Michael (The Last Station) Hoffman’s crime-comedy Gambit, which began filming in London on May 5. We’ve been informed that Stanley Tucci and Cloris Leachman have joined the cast, which also includes Alan Rickman and Sir Tom Courtenay.

In the movie written by Joel and Ethan Coen, Firth plays British art curator Harry Deane, who devises a finely-crafted scheme to con England’s richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar, (Rickman) into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.

The film will also be shooting in New Mexico later in the production. CBS Films hasn’t set a release date for North America yet.
