According to The Hollywood Reporter, Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie has signed on with Warner Bros. Pictures to star in biopic Queen of the Air, based on the book by Dean N. Jensen.
The film is based around the life and tragic death of world-renowned trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel, whose acts of jaw-dropping (and physically punishing) acrobatics for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus made her a celebrity. The film will also cover her passionate-yet-tempestuous marriage to fellow death-defying circus performer Alfredo Codona.
Andrew Lazar (American Sniper) will produce the period love drama Queen of the Air from a script by Cat Vasko (Grrl Scouts).
While Warner Bros. is just beginning to develop a Harley Quinn solo movie for Robbie, she’ll next be seen opposite Simon Pegg in the thriller Terminal, and is set to star opposite Domhnall Gleeson in the A.A. Milne biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin.
