Warner Bros. has confirmed to ComingSoon.net that the sequel to Guy Ritchie’s 2009 Sherlock Holmes now has the official title of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
The sequel will continue the adventures of the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his friend and associate Dr. Watson (Jude Law) as they match wits against their arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris). The film also stars Stephen Fry in the role of Mycroft, Sherlock’s brother and will feature Noomi Rapace ad the currently-unnamed female lead.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows will hit theaters on December 16th of this year.
