Shark Night 3D May Go With Post-Modern Retitle

Just when you thought the Superman Lindsay Lohan rumors were the strangest news of the day, Vulture has revealed that David R. Ellis has a brand new title in mind for his untitled 3D shark thriller. The Snakes on a Plane helmer wants to call his film… Untitled 3D Shark Thriller.

In what could amount to nothing more than a publicity stunt or a misinterpreted joke, Ellis has suggested that the project, which features a group of college friends menaced by sharks while on vacation, maintain its working title for release.

No stranger to literal titles, Ellis’ Snakes on a Plane was, at one time, planned for release under the more ambiguous Pacific Air Flight 121 but reverted to its working title in response to overwhelming online demand.

Regardless of what title it is released under, the film stars Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan, Katharine McPhee, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz, Joel David Moore, Donal Logue, Sinqua Walls and Chris Zylka and is planned for release on September 2nd.
