Ruben Fleischer in Talks for Gangster Squad

Warner Bros. Pictures is in early talks with Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer to direct Gangster Squad, ComingSoon.net has confirmed.

The film will be an adaptation of the Los Angeles Times articles titled “Tales From the Gangster Squad.” The articles, written by Paul Lieberman, explore the true story of a band of secret “off the record” police task force who went after Meyer Harris “Mickey” Cohen, a high-profile gangster who was a member of the “Jewish Mafia” in the 1940’s.

Will Beall wrote the script for the movie, to be produced by Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick.

Fleischer is currently directing Columbia Pictures comedy 30 Minutes of Less.
