Matthew Broderick Joins Tower Heist

Matthew Broderick is joining the cast of director Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist.

In the Universal Pictures comedy, an overworked manager (Ben Stiller) of an illustrious tower residence leads a team of defrauded workers in a heist of its penthouse tenant (Alan Alda), a Bernie Madoff-type Wall Street capitalist who pulled a Ponzi scheme and swindled the staff. Alda will play the capitalist.

Eddie Murphy, Tea Leoni, Gabourey Sidibe, Michael Pena and Nina Arianda co-star in the November 4, 2011 release.

UPDATE: Casey Affleck and Judd Hirsch have also joined the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Affleck is said to play both a friend and employee to Stiller whose conscious threatens to ruin the planned heist. Hirsch’s role is currently unknown.
