According to Variety, actress Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) is set to join Will Smith and Joel Edgerton in Suicide Squad director David Ayer’s Bright movie, the Max Landis-scripted fantasy cop feature coming to Netflix. The $90-million dollar, hard-R-rated film is the streaming service’s biggest project to date.
Likened to Ayer’s own End of Watch, the Bright movie takes place in a fantasy realm and follows an Orc cop. Plans call for Bright to go into production this fall.
Rapace, not seen in a major blockbuster since 2012’s Prometheus, will next star in Tommy Wirkola’s sci-fi thriller What Happened to Monday? opposite Willem Dafoe, set to open in the UK in November.
Max Landis, whose recent screenplays have included Victor Frankenstein and American Ultra, has previously shared tidbits from the Bright movie over social media. Although it’s not necessarily a scene that will appear in the final film, you can get a taste of Bright‘s alternate reality in the below tweet:
