Bryan Cranston is Drive ‘s Latest Passenger

Bryan Cranston has signed on to appear in the upcoming Drive, reports Film School Rejects.

Refn, best known for writing and directing 2008’s Bronson, gave up the news while promoting his new film, Valhalla Rising, adding of Cranston, “He’s my favorite actor around.”

Based on the James Sallis novel, Drive features Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver moonlighting as a getaway driver, who ends up racing against time when he finds out that someone has put a price on his head.

Best known for his current work on “Breaking Bad,” Cranston began his career with frequent guest-roles on television, including an episode of The X-Files, coincidentally also titled Drive. The role, that of a bigoted man whose medical condition forced him to drive west as quickly as possible, marked his first work with “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan.

Cranston will appear on the big screen in the upcoming John Carter of Mars and the Tom Hanks-directed Larry Crowne.
