Fox Also Developing a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

On Saturday, it was revealed that director David Fincher is set to take on Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with script to be written soon by Scott J. Burns.

Now, Heat Vision has learned that 20th Century Fox is developing its own take of the Jules Verne classic. Producers Ridley and Tony Scott and their Scott Free Prods. are developing the project project with a script by Clash of the Titans co-writer Travis Beacham. Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is in talks about directing the film, though no deal has been made.

The Jules Verne title is in the public domain, so anybody can adapt it.

The trade says that this version may be set in the future (although it follows the novel’s structure).
