ComingSoon.net has learned that Sony’s Columbia Pictures has set an October 15, 2010 release date for director David Fincher’s The Social Network, written by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Joe Mazzello.
The film centers on Mark Zuckenberg (Eisenberg), who created Facebook in 2004 at Harvard during his sophomore year.
Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook‘s founding president and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg over money.
The other movie scheduled for an Oct. 15 release is CBS Films’ Faster, an action-drama starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton.
