Magus/Adam Warlock to Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?

According to a casting call posted on Acting Auditions (via SpoilerTV) Avengers: Infinity War – Part I is already beginning the casting process. The casting call says Marvel Studios is looking for an actor to portray the comic book villain Magus in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron sequel.

While Magus isn’t a household name, he has a long history in Marvel Comics. The character is, in fact, the evil doppelganger of a character named Adam Warlock (because, comics). Magus has a very complicated history, but suffice to say, many of his stories revolve around the Infinity Gauntlet, which we know will play a crucial role in the Marvel films.

The implication of having Magus involved in the Avengers sequel means there must be an Adam Warlock, presumably played by the same actor. Adam Warlock has been speculated by fans to be the number one choice to be the father of Guardians of the Galaxy leader Star Lord (Chris Pratt). It could be possible that they are in fact casting for Adam Warlock for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which should begin filming in 2016, and are using the Magus name as a way to throw people off.

As is Marvel tradition, it’s not likely we’ll hear any confirmation about this news, let alone who they are looking at for the role, for many months to come.
