I wouldn’t typically choose to put these two posters in the same post, but they arrived at the same time and, well, I guess I’m lazy. Either way, just below are the posters for the Olympus Has Fallen sequel London Has Fallen as well as the Kurt Russell-led Western Bone Tomahawk and they are about as far apart from one another in effort and quality as could possibly be.
First for London Has Fallen, a sequel to the Antoine Fuqua film Olympus Has Fallen that once again find Gerard Butler playing a Secret Service agent only this time he’s across the pond when trouble arises. After the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also returns as the Vice President of the United States. The film is set for an Oct. 2 release from Focus.

As for Bone Tomahawk, it currently doesn’t have a release date or distributor and it would seem safe to assume this poster is arriving now as it will likely be shown in Cannes this month, hoping to find a home. Directed by S. Craig Zahler and starring Kurt Russell, Richard Jenkins, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox and Lili Simmons this brutally violent, character-driven story follows a sheriff (Russell), a gunslinger, a befuddled oldster (Jenkins) and a cowboy as they attempt to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes. David Arquette, Fred Melamed, Sean Young, Sid Haig and Michael Paré also star.
Bone Tomahawk seems a likely candidate to land at both Toronto and Venice, looking to find distribution. One thing’s for certain, I’m down to give it a look.
