Avengers: Age of Ultron is dominating the box office right now, but I think it’s safe to say most of us are a little more interested in the upcoming, off-beat summer feature, Mad Max: Fury Road. While it may be a sequel, it’s a sequel coming 30 years after the last installment (Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome) and it looks unlike anything we’ve seen in some time. The mere fact Warner Bros. spent $150 million on something that looks so insanely different makes me feel it’s something we need to support.
That said, I’ve come to deliver some more incentive if you weren’t already on board in the form of six clips and over 40 pictures from the upcoming fiery, apocalyptic nightmare. Here’s the synopsis:
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
The film is directed by franchise creator George Miller and stars Tom Hardy in the title role joined by Charlize Theron as Furiosa along with Zoe Kravitz, Adelaide Clemens, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Megan Gale and Abbey Lee.
