Ryan Reynolds just tweeted out the above first look at his costume as the titular character in Deadpool, the spin-off of his character from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, lovingly known as the “Merc with a Mouth”.
The characters is based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero and the film, directed by Tim Miller, tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano co-star.
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
