Watch: Five Clips from SXSW Entry ‘7 Chinese Brothers’, Starring Jason Schwartzman

If one were to head on over to my 7 Chinese Brothers, which stars Jason Schwartzman. I did not wholly love Byington’s previous film Somebody Up There Likes Me, but I saw a lot of promise there and was eager to see what he had next. The man has a very unique comic voice, which I think deserves to be noticed.

That said, if you’d like further introduction, I have five clips from the movie (h/t The Playlist) for you all to watch. Considering the film is only 75 minutes long, I will not be watching them as they could possibly take up a significant portion of the runtime. But for those of you who do not know what this film is, which may be a good portion of you, give them a watch below. Also, you can check out a new poster for the film as well below the clips.

Jason Schwartzman portrays Larry, an inebriated sad sack who rides a tide of booze onto the shores of an undiscriminating Quick-Lube. The only bright spot is probably his boss, Lupe (Eleanore Pienta).

Will Larry keep it together long enough to win the girl, provide for his French bulldog (Schwartzman’s real-life dog Arrow), laze about with his friend Major (TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe), and do his cantankerous grandmother (Olympia Dukakis) proud?
