Greig Fraser (Zero Dark Thirty, Foxcatcher) will serve as cinematographer for Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) on his upcoming Star Wars spin-off film. “I’m doing a fucking Star Wars movie, which is like – I don’t know about you but “Star Wars” is like my first film love,” Fraser told HitFix. “Gareth is doing a standalone film. Of course I do know some specifics, but it’s obviously something I’ve signed my kidneys away for.” [HitFix]

Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) have joined the cast of Ridley Scott‘s The Martian. The confirmed cast now includes Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Donald Glover, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sebastian Stan and Mackenzie Davis. Aaron Sorkin has confirmed Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic he penned saying, “He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined… There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in. And there’s a tremendous amount of language. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it.” [THR]

After doing some script work on the upcoming Ant-Man for Marvel, Adam McKay hints he may direct one of their future projects telling Crave:

“I’m starting to get into the early stages with Marvel. I just did a big rewrite on Ant-Man with Paul Rudd and had such a great time working with them that we’re kicking around ideas. But yeah, maybe I would take on one of the characters so we haven’t locked in anything, but discussions are definitely going on.”

The Conjuring 2 has been pushed from its 2015 release to some time in 2016 with James Wan returning to direct after having worked on Fast & Furious 7, which should have a trailer premiering soon as it has just been approved and runs 2:28 minutes. [Deadline]
