I finally got my press screening invite for Birdman and once again us Seattleites play second fiddle, seeing the film the morning it hits theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 17 rather than before. No worries, though I can’t even find a listing of when the film opens elsewhere other than knowing it arrives in Seattle theaters (and other select cities) a week later.
Today, however, a new clip has arrived featuring Michael Keaton as Riggan and Edward Norton as Mike as the two get in a heated discussion concerning the merits of theater vs. Hollywood while in search of a late-night cup of coffee.
The film is described as a black comedy, telling the story of Riggan, an actor famous for portraying an iconic superhero, as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.
