‘Ouija’ Movie Viral Prank Spells ‘R-U-N’

Ouija hits theaters in just over two weeks and I have yet to receive my press invite. What’s up Universal? No faith in your boardgame adaptation horror? However, the studio has gotten together with marketing firm Thinkmodo, the same peeps that put together the viral video for last year’s horror remake Carrie (see bottom of post), for a whole new brand of viral thrills.

Setting up a fake Ouija Fortune Teller in Brooklyn, unwitting participants sit down only to find the board spelling out R-U-N before the psychic bugs her eyes out and yells “RUN!” as a monster bursts from the floor nearby. Cue screams and laughter and one person that rolls so far backward in their chair they fall over.

Ouija hits theaters on October 24.
