‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ Stars Join ‘Maze Runner’ Sequel

I haven’t seen or read any of the reviews for The Maze Runner. I have been told it was visually impressive, especially considering it was made on a budget of only $34 million and the film is certainly doing well worldwide, having already made $175.4 million in 17 days of release. So, with Fox already planning The Maze Runner Chapter II: The Scorch Trials for release less than a year after the first one hit theaters, they are clearly hoping to strike while the iron is hot.

In the sequel, Dylan O’Brien return as Thomas, but now that he and the rest of the teen heroes have escaped the maze they must now travel the wasteland that is Earth, ravaged by solar flares. Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Sangster, Jacob Lofland and Rosa Salazar are also returning.

Joining the cast for the next chapter include Aidan Gillen (“The Game of Thrones”) as the film’s lead villain Janson (aka Rat-Man) and Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”) as Jorge, a leader of a group of survivors known as the Cranks that encounter the group of teens.

Wes Ball is returning to direct for a September 18, 2015 release.
