We already learned Roger Deakins would not be returning to lens Bond 24 for Sam Mendes and with principal photography set to begin in December it seems Mendes has found a replacement in Hoyte van Hoytema (Her, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and he may be shooting photochemically rather than digital (source). That in mind, and his recent experience with Christopher Nolan on Interstellar, it makes me wonder if they’ll also be shooting in IMAX.
There isn’t much else to report at the moment, but I do like the idea of going with a different cinematographer for the newest Bond, and van Hoytema’s eye will certainly deliver a very different color palette than Deakins brought to Skyfall, or, come to think of it, any of the Bond films that I can think of.
I expect we’ll have a big press announcement soon enough, giving us a title and more for the new Bond film, which currently features Daniel Craig back as Bond along with Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear with rumors their looking to bring on a new iconic henchman.
James Bond 24 is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2015. [HitFix]
