Ridley Scott Says ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel Will Likely Follow ‘The Martian’, but What about ‘Prometheus 2’?

Ridley Scott has got a ton on his plate and even he admits that in a new interview with EW telling the site when it comes to the slate of films he has in the near future, “That’s the problem, I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row.” However, he adds to that one key note, “But they’re all written.”

What he’s referring to specifically are a pair of sequels, the first being Prometheus 2, which is currently slated for a March 4, 2016 release and the other being the Blade Runner sequel of which he tells the mag:

“It’s written and it’s damn good… Of course it involves [Harrison Ford], who is a survivor after all these years – despite the accident [referring to hiss Star Wars leg injury]. So yes, that will happen.”

When these films will happen, however, is up for debate.

Scott has Exodus: Gods and Kings coming out at the end of this year, he then moves to filming The Martian with Matt Damon for a November 2015 release… After that he would presumably move to Prometheus 2… or is the Blade Runner sequel?

While Ford has not yet committed to the Blade Runner sequel Scott does tell EW filming would likely begin after The Martian and right now it sounds like he will direct. This could either delay Prometheus 2 or put it in the hands of another director.

Personally, I’d love to see another director tackle the Prometheus sequel, get some new blood in there and shake things up.
