The marketing for Mad Max: Fury Road has been curious in that Warner Bros. has done little to nothing to raise awareness of the film and the first images were “leaked” online rather than officially premiered. The only real evidence we’ve received suggesting WB even cares was the recent spread in Entertainment Weekly and wouldn’t you know it, the latest image from the film has just been found circulating online rather than officially released by the studio.
Just above is a look at several of the vehicles that will be featured in the film as they raise a dust storm in the post-apocalyptic world the film inhabits. Starring Tom Hardy in the role of Max Rockatansky, a hardened ex-cop in a future beset by gas shortages and marauding gangs, the film is said to take place a short while after the story detailed after 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and centers on Max (Hardy) and the “Five Wives,” a group of women Max must protect from the bad guys as he flees across the post-apocalyptic wasteland in what Miller has described as a Road War.
Charlize Theron stars as a bad-ass commander named Imperator Furiosa while Nicholas Hoult, Courtney Eaton, Riley Keough and Abbey Lee Kershaw also have roles in the film.
I have to assume a trailer is coming soon, but when I have absolutely no idea.
