New Picture and Poster for ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ Starring Kidman, Firth and Strong

I’ve mentioned the upcoming thriller Before I Go To Sleep a couple of times already, once in my list of most anticipated movies of 2014 and again in my article looking at several of the book adaptations coming to the big screen this year. Adapted from the novel by S.J. Watson, the story features Nicole Kidman as a woman wakes up every day, remembering nothing as a result of a traumatic accident in her past. One day, new terrifying truths emerge that force her to question everyone around her. Kidman stars in the film opposite Colin Firth and Mark Strong with Rowan Joffe directing.

[amz asin=”B004GUSG4M” size=”small”]As of now there is no release date set, but a new picture and poster have arrived and while they aren’t really much to look at, it did give me a chance to mention the book again, which I quite enjoyed and won’t be surprised if the film can’t live up to it.

My biggest fear is the story is told in the book by reading the lead character’s diary, which means the film could feature a lot of voice over narration. It’s also something of a thriller in the same vein as Memento except the clues are not tattooed on the lead character’s body, they are written down in her diary. It’s a tricky scenario for a feature film and I hope they can pull it off, only I fear Joffe (Brighton Rock) isn’t the man to do it.

Now here’s that poster. [The Playlist]
