Boyhood is my most anticipated movie of 2014 as well as a film I consider an early contender for a Best Picture nomination. It received positive reviews out of Sundance and now IFC will bring it to theaters on July 11 and I cannot wait.
Today the studio premiered the first poster for the film and it doesn’t really have much flair to it as they’ve chosen to go the minimalistic route, merely Photoshopping the above still from the film, but nevertheless, any reason to talk about this movie and share my excitement I’m going to take.
The film stars Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater and was filmed over short periods from 2002 to 2013, Boyhood is a groundbreaking cinematic experience covering 12 years in the life of a family. At the center is Mason (Coltrane), who with his sister Samantha (Linklater), are taken on an emotional and transcendent journey through the years, from childhood to adulthood.
Check out the poster below, I expect we’ll have a trailer soon enough.
