Warner Bros. has just premiered a new featurette for Wally Pfister‘s Transcendence and to go along with it I have a new poster and a few pictures (via The Playlist) from the upcoming April 18 release, which features Johnny Depp as the man inside the system.
As much as I am curious to see what Pfister does with his feature directorial debut after all his time working with Christopher Nolan, I caught the trailer for this one before my screening of 300: Rise of an Empire and I didn’t see much that made me feel like this was anything all that revolutionary. Sure, the effects look great, but the whole “I love him, I don’t want to kill him!” “But he’s not really alive!” aspect of it just seemed so “been there, done that”. Am I crazy?
