‘Fast & Furious 7’ Targets April While ‘Bond 24’ Eyes October

Following the death of Paul Walker, production on Fast & Furious 7 came to an abrupt halt. Filming was around the halfway mark and now screenwriter Chris Morgan and director James Wan have pored over the footage that has already been shot, tweaked the script and production on the film is now ready to resume this April.

The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which cites “sources” saying rather than killing Walker’s character off, which seems like it would be in very poor taste, his Brian O’Connor character can be “retired” — rather than killed off — in a way that will allow the franchise to continue.

The film is now slated for a April 10, 2015 release.

Another sequel getting underway this year is the next James Bond film, currently known only as Bond 24. Skyfall helmer Sam Mendes is back to direct and during his press rounds for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ralph Fiennes, who will return as the series’ new M, tells MTV, production is “meant to start shooting in October.”

The film is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
