I loved Lone Scherfig‘s An Education, but her follow-up, One Day, was a mess so here’s to hoping her upcoming feature, Posh, adapted for the screen by Laura Wade from her play of the same name, is an improvement. Based on the plot outline it certainly has the makings of something interesting.
Starring the likes of Holliday Grainger, Douglas Booth, Natalie Dormer, Jessica Brown Findlay, Sam Claflin, Max Irons and Sam Reid, Posh focuses on Miles and Alistair (Irons and Claflin), first years at Oxford University determined to join the notorious Riot Club – a place that can make or break your time in higher education and, quite possibly, life. During the course of a night at the Bull’s Head pub, ambition and avarice lead them down a dark path.
Today the first pictures from Posh arrive, courtesy of Empire, which spoke with Scherfig about her new film of which hopes is a feature focused on power and class – one that grips and amuses, as well as provokes. “It’s more dynamic and energetic and dramatic and tough than the films I’ve done previously,” she said.
