What I Watched, What You Watched #233

A very light week for me on both the movie and TV side of things as I only caught The Thin Man. She’s not normally a big fan of older films but I knew the dynamic between William Powell and Myrna Loy would be something she’d love, after all, she already liked them in It Happened One Night.

I’ve been meaning to get a second title into my Best Movies series lately and I’ve been considering Dr. Strangelove since watching it a week or so ago, but after watching The Thin Man I think it may be a more interesting addition as Stanley Kubrick is always a goto in these type of things and I think I’d like Barry Lyndon to be the first of his to add to the collection.

That said, a lot of my free time as of late has been spent on something of a redesign/recoding of the site. Now don’t go thinking I’m going to make any drastic changes to what you’ve gotten used to in terms of design. This new take on the site is largely a coding change, something to vastly improve the site for mobile and tablet devices, as well as a way of dramatically improve page loading time. There will be a few cosmetic changes and things will look ever so slightly different, but you will find everything in the exact same spots as you do now, only difference will be finding and reading it on your phone will be much, much easier and faster and I don’t have much more work to do and it could be finished as soon as April 1.

If you’re interested I posted a sneak peek at how the new design works on the RopeofSilicon Facebook page, right here.

Otherwise, it was a week of basketball for me. My beloved Tar Heels bested Duke on Thursday and I watched Duke best Syracuse just yesterday, though I wasn’t impressed with how the game ended considering Duke got several blocking calls all game and the refs made a horrible call at the end of the game against Syracuse, thus ending the game as Jim Boeheim went berserk. Oh well, just the start of a new rivalry in the ACC.

Now, what did you watch this past week?
