June Squibb (Nebraksa) made a cute little video for “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (watch below), but I don’t think anyone expects her to take home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress on March 2. That race is obviously between Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), but with “Entertainment Weekly” putting Nyong’o alongside Best Actress lock Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) on their 2014 Oscars cover, referring to them as “front runners” does this all but assure Nyong’o of the eventual win?
I’m sure the regular loud voices will rush to the comments to say, “The media doesn’t decide the winners!” But I guess those same people have never really understood marketing and the whole reason behind the money spent on “For Your Consideration” campaigns.
