Jessica Chastain shared the above picture of her in period garb for director J.C. Chandor in his latest film, A Most Violent Year Chastain completed production on the thriller, which is set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically one of the most violent years in the city’s history.
Expected to hit theaters later this year, Chastain co-stars in the film with Oscar Isaac, Alfred Molina and Albert Brooks as the film follows the lives of an immigrant and his family trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities as the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built.
A24 will handle the domestic release and I have to assume a Toronto or New York Film Festival premiere will be the play.
