Watson and Hawke Join Amenabar & Fanning Flocks to Naranjo

I still haven’t seen Gerardo Naranjo‘s Miss Bala, which I realize is a gaping hole in my list of “have watched”, but I’m sure I’ll catch it at some point, though hopefully before his next film, which he’s just lined up with Dakota Fanning set to star along with Frank Dillane, Jeremy Allen White and X-Men: First Class co-stars Zoe Kravitz and Caleb Landry Jones.

The film doesn’t yet have a title, but the story follows Viena (Fanning), a roadie on a journey of self-discovery while on tour with a punk band in the 1980s. Production is set to begin in Nevada in late March.

In other casting news, Alejandro Amenabar (The Others, The Sea Inside) is finally getting back to work after the lackluster response to his 2009 feature Agora.

His next film is titled Regression and Dimension Films has already picked it up for distribution and Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke are attached to star. Amenabar wrote the screenplay which is said to center on a father accused of a crime he has no memory of committing. Dimension will release the film in 2015.
