2014 Screen Actors Guild Award Winners

The 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held tonight and they played out as predicted with American Hustle took home Best Ensemble, while Dallas Buyers Club was the night’s biggest winner taking home two Actors for Best Actor (Matthew McConaughey) and Best Supporting Actor (Jared Leto).

On the female side of things Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) was the obvious winner for Best Actress while Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) took home Best Supporting Actress in one of the night’s most competitive categories, edging out Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle).

The win for American Hustle makes tomorrow’s Producers Guild Awards more interesting as 12 Years a Slave definitely needs some more support if it is to remain frontrunner for Best Picture as it has become quite clear Chiwetel Ejiofor is likely to lose the Best Actor race to Matthew McConaughey.

I will talk more about the Oscars on Monday, but for now I have included the complete theatrical and primetime television winners directly below with winners listed in bold red text.

Oh, and if you missed my live blog you can check it out in all its glory right here. I thought I did pretty well.
