Paul Walker has Died at the Age of 40


Several sources have confirmed Paul Walker (Fast & Furious 6) was killed Saturday afternoon in a car crash in Valencia, California. He was 40.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Walker was the passenger in a friend’s (former race car driver Roger Rodas) car and the two were returning from a charity event when the car crashed and burst into flames near the 28300 block at Rye Canyon Loop in Santa Clarita, CA. EW adds information saying the fire department extinguished the flames and located two bodies trapped inside the vehicle, both of whom were later pronounced dead. According to the AP, the speed of the vehicle was a factor in the crash.

The following pictures from the crash scene show little left of the car and is very hard to look at without a heavy heart.

A Universal Pictures representative said in a statement: “Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.”

Walker was home from working on Fast & Furious 7 and was scheduled to return to work next week. Nikki Finke the following on Twitter regarding the state of the film: “Sources tell me Paul Walker’s ‘Fast & Furious 7′ is in midst of filming with cast and crew “on holiday’. Majority of footage already shot.”

A post on Walker’s official Facebook page reads;

It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences.
