I had to piece all of what I’m about to tell you about the Silver Samurai character from the pages of Wikipedia in support of the new poster featuring the character from the upcoming The Wolverine dropped over the weekend.
The character will be played by Will Yun Lee and he is the illegitimate son of a Yakuza crime boss. He has the ability to charge his katana with “tachyon energy”, which can then cut through almost anything, which I assume puts Wolverine’s adamantium claws and skeletal structure at risk and gives the anticipated fight scenes their necessary level of “tension”.
Hugh Jackman returns as The Wolverine on July 26.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan (Hugh Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
