Summit has decided to upload the first four minutes of their upcoming zombie rom-com Warm Bodies from director Jonathan Levine (50/50) and I have to say, a marketing tactic like this coupled with the February 1 release date is not giving me any additional confidence in this picture. In fact, this is a pretty bad sign.
The film takes place following a zombie epidemic, and a zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) encounters Julie (Teresa Palmer), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human. The cast also includes Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Cory Hardrict and Dave Franco.
Check out the clip below. I’m going to hold out hope this is simply due to a need for increased word of mouth, but releasing such a massive clip this far away from the film’s release date just doesn’t look good to me.
