Written and directed by Eran Creevy, Welcome to the Punch is a film with a cast of characters anyone who’s been paying attention is sure to recognize. This includes the likes of James McAvoy, Mark Strong, Andrea Riseborough, David Morrissey, Peter Mullan and Daniel Mays and the fact this is a criminal thriller is sure to also energize the audience.
Today the first trailer for the film has arrived as it will make its way to UK cinemas on March 15 and will be released sometime stateside by IFC.
The story follows Jacob Sternwood (Strong), a former criminal forced to return to London from his Icelandic hideaway when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives detective Max Lewinsky (McAvoy) one last chance to catch the man he has always been after. As they face off, they start to uncover a deeper conspiracy they both need to solve in order to survive.
