Loki’s Alien Army Revealed in New TV Spots for ‘The Avengers’

A pair of new TV spots for The Avengers have arrived and the domestic one titled “Head Count” features what I believe to be the first full look at the villains at the center of Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) alien army and they don’t particularly seem too happy.

The second trailer is an international one that comes from Brazil, but its still comes in the English language with subtitles and features a different look at the film with the domestic trailer being the one you are primarily going to be interested in if new footage is your thing as The Hulk smashes one of the aliens into the wall, but it still seems to come back for more.

And in other Marvel news, Vulture reports George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) and Anthony and Joseph Russo (Welcome to Collinwood and “Community”) are under consideration to step in for Joe Johnston as directors of Captain America 2 with a decision expected to be made by mid-April.

That said, here are those two new trailers… Enjoy!

International TV Spot

The Avengers continues the big-screen adventures started in Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger and brings together the heroes from all of those films as they team up to fight an unexpected enemy that threatens global safety and security as members of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. The cast includes all the familiar faces and some new ones including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgard and the aforementioned Tom Hiddleston.

Joss Whedon directed the film, which will hit theaters on May 4.
