20th Century Fox just sent over news that Jai Courtney, best known as Varro in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”, has landed the role as John (Jack) McClane, Jr., the son of John McClane, Bruce Willis‘ iconic action hero, in the fifth Die Hard feature, A Good Day to Die Hard.
The official synopsis for the film tells us McClane will head to Moscow for this fifth feature and introduces his estranged son Jack. An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father, but despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive – and the world safe for democracy.
The film begins production this April, for a February 14, 2013 release with John Moore (Max Payne) directing.
February 2013 will prove to be a big month for Courtney as he will also be seen opposite Tom Cruise in One Shot, which hits theaters only six days earlier on February 8.
