Dimension Films is finally moving on the marketing for the delayed Piranha 3DD, which will continue the idea of killer fish preying on unsuspecting girls in bikinis and will do it all in three-dimensions.
The film was previously set for release on November 23, 2011 and still remains undated for release some time later this year, but the fact they are releasing official posters would seem to suggest it will actually be released at some point.
The sequel picks up where Alexandre Aja’s 2010 feature left off as the prehistoric fish that cracked out from the bottom of Lake Victoria now head upstream to Big Wet, a local water park where the staff and patrons become a tasty snake for several fish with a big bite. The cast is primarily new though Ving Rhames (who apparently didn’t die) and Christopher Lloyd are returning along with new members including Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, David Koechner, Hector Jimenez, Clu Gulager, Chris Zylka, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden and, appropriately, David Hasselhoff.
