International Poster for Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ is a Bit More Revealing

Over the last week or so several new bits and bites related to Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus have surfaced online resulting in today’s latest reveal, which is a new international poster for the film courtesy of AllNewz, which offers only a slightly different look than the domestic version. You can check out the poster at the bottom of this post, but before that here are a few more items of note.

First, the image above comes from Los Angeles Times featuring not only a peek at Noomi Rapace, but the thing that has most onliners excited are the pair of statuesque Space Jockeys in the background.

The “Times” article also brings the first of several quotes capturing attention as screenwriter Damon Lindelof compared it to the work of David Lean, “The movie is definitely epic in its scope. One of the filmmakers that we ended up talking about to a fair degree of redundancy was David Lean, who directed Lawrence of Arabia. We wanted to make the movie feel big by having the characters be small in big spaces. That connected to the larger themes we were talking about — that we’re all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet.”

Next we have the picture to the right which comes from Entertainment Weekly again featuring Rapace alongside Logan Marshall-Green, the latter of which plays Holloway, the love interest of Rapace’s character, Elizabeth Shaw.

Another member of the Prometheus cast that has been less discussed is Guy Pearce, but it would seem that’s for very specific reasons as he recently told MTV, “I’m only [in the film] for a minute, but it was a real honor to work with Ridley [Scott], to see what was going on. I think Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and everybody will do a really spectacular job.”

All that’s known about Pearce’s character is that his name is Stannison. There’s been talk his involvement was always intended to be kept secret so perhaps there’s a little more to the story than is being revealed.

Finally, we come to Michael Fassbender who plays android by the name of David in the film. He recently was bragging about the film to InStyle when he said, “It’s the must-see film of 2012! I play the humanoid android. The first thing that struck me was a good script. Really intelligent script. A real thriller. Real anticipation. The first Alien had that. The atmosphere was thick. You knew that something was going to happen. Which is very rare that you can read that in a script. And also, Ridley Scott is the master. He’s amazing. Really something else to watch him work. His attention to detail. And also his mischievousness, his playfulness. And again, no idea is stupid for him. He’ll let you bring it to the floor and have a go at it. I really, really enjoyed working with him. And of course the cast.”
