New Images from Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ Scanned from the Pages of Entertainment Weekly

I hate posting images of scanned pictures from magazines, but one image in particular, the one teased above, is just too enticing not to post.

Entertainment Weekly has delivered a batch of new images from Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus featuring images of the cast including Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green and Noomi Rapace as well as the image of a giant face as the characters walk in a field of blue fog surrounded by monoliths reminiscent of the egg chamber from Alien. What does it all mean? I really don’t know and the mystery is enticing enough for me, though I assume many of you will be rushing to read the latest EW for more information.

As far as what we do know, the most recent synopsis tells us this:

Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Personally, I feel as if I know too much about this film already and I’m doing my best to forget. It is set to hit theaters on June 8, 2012 and I would expect Fox is only a short time away from revealing the first trailer as these new images have got to be just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the marketing campaign they have planned.

That said, you can browse all five images using the thumbnails below and thanks to Shock Till You Drop and Dread Central for the scans.
